Qcom is committed to ensuring the security and protection of the personal information that we process and to providing a consistent approach to data protection which is compliant with all relevant legislation and regulation.

People who use Qcom services (Qcom Partners)

We need to process and hold personal details when a service is requested from Qcom in order to provide that service. Any information is stored in Qcom’s service management software (Access SME). We only use these details to provide the service requested and for other closely related purposes. For example, we might use information to carry out a customer satisfaction survey to find out if you were happy with the service received.

People who use Qcom services (End Users)

When an end user calls Qcom’s helpdesk or when we are provided with user details by a Qcom partner, we will process and store this information for the purpose of providing a contracted service. This information will include a telephone number, email address and site address The data will be stored securely within our service management software (Access SME).

We may, where necessary, pass these details to approved Qcom partners in order to carry out the request. These providers are compliant with all relevant legislation and regulation and will only use personal details on Qcom’s behalf to carry out the required service.

Visitors to the Qcom Website

When someone visits www.qcom.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect information such as the number of visitors and their behaviour patterns. We do this in order to improve the performance of our site over time. The information collected is not used to identify individuals, nor do we allow Google to identify individuals. There are areas of our site where we collect personally identifiable information, for example: ‘Contact Us’. We will always make it clear where we are collecting this information and ask for your consent to store and use it.

Use of Cookies by Qcom

When viewing the Qcom website, some information may be stored on your computer in the form of a ‘cookie’ or similar file. We use the information on these files for our own internal marketing purposes and to improve the content of this web site to better match your interests and preferences.

We do not allow advertisers or other third parties to place cookies via the Qcom website.

Email Marketing

We store customer data in our secure CRM system (Workbooks). We may store your name, employer, email address and telephone number and we may contact you by email with information about Qcom’s services, service updates and special offers.

Should you wish at any point for your details to be deleted you can select unsubscribe on any of our marketing emails or contact annabel.roddy@qcom.co.uk

We use third party email software, MailChimp, to deliver our marketing campaigns and monthly e-zines. Our marketing emails may contain a single, campaign-unique “web beacon pixel” to tell us whether our emails are opened and verify any clicks through to links within the email.

We may use this information to determine which of our emails are more interesting to users in order to improve the content of our emails over time. The pixel will be deleted when you delete the email.

Your Rights

Under the Data Protection Act 1998, you have rights which you can exercise in relation to the information that Qcom holds about you.

You are entitled to find out if we hold any personal information on you by making a ‘Subject Access Request’. We will:

  • tell you what information we are holding;
  • tell you why we are holding it;
  • tell you who it could be disclosed to; and
  • provide you with a copy of the information in an intelligible form.
